Last time I was at the Kringloop in the Hague I bought these 4 books. I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I always do. I picked up Ward, De Zinrijke Avonturen van de Vos Reinaerde and Volkssprookjes en Legenden uit Arabië for the covers, and Voor ‘t Jonge Volkje for the batshit typography and illustrations.

The inside of Ward isn’t too exciting, but the cover’s intricate lines are all debossed into the cover.

De Zinrijke Avonturen van de Vos Reinaerde uses a really nice typeface, ornaments and display caps, almost making up for the horrid justification

Volkssprookjes en Legenden uit Arabië I bought mostly for the cover, but Voor ‘t Jonge Volkje is full of crazy typographic interludes. Whoever designed this book must have been easily bored: I tried to count the different typefaces used but I lost track after 15
